Cookie policy
robotist.com.au runs on a small number of cookies. Everything except the cookies that keep the site working waits for your answer, and you can change that answer whenever you like.

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site remember something between pages or between visits — for example, which robots you have added to an inquiry. Cookies are not programmes and cannot read anything else on your device.
Your choice
Checking your current setting…
Accepting allows Google Analytics 4 (Google's website measurement service) to set its measurement cookies. Rejecting keeps them off. Clearing the stored choice returns this site to the state a first-time visitor sees, so the cookie notice appears again.
The cookies this site uses
| Cookie | Type | Kept for | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| robotist_grn | Essential | Session | Keeps your inquiry cart and the security token that protects the forms on this site. It carries no advertising or tracking information. |
| robotist_consent | Essential | 6 months | Remembers the answer you gave on this page, so the notice is not shown again on every visit. |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Up to 13 months | Google Analytics 4 cookies. They tell us how many people visit, which pages are read and which robots attract interest. Set only after you accept analytics. |
What happens before you choose
Until you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 runs in its cookieless mode: no analytics cookie and no identifier is stored on your device, and Google receives only aggregated, anonymous page view counts with no cross-site profile. Accepting switches measurement to the standard cookieless-free mode described above. Rejecting keeps the cookieless mode in place for as long as the choice is stored.
Cookies set by other companies
Two third parties are involved, and only in the situations described:
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4 measurement cookies, and none before you accept analytics.
- YouTube — video on Robotist blog articles is embedded through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which withholds its advertising cookies until a video is played.
Robotist does not run advertising or social-media tracking pixels on this site.
Changing your mind
Use the buttons under "Your choice" above at any time. You can also remove cookies already stored by this site through your browser's own settings — every major browser lets you view and delete cookies per site, and block them for the future. Blocking the essential cookies will stop the inquiry cart and the forms on this site from working.
